Experience a rich variety of dance works by gifted local and nationally known choreographers.  Under the Summer Sky, a repertory concert, will be presented by Metro Dancers, on Friday, August 1st at 6:30pm in the Washington Park Amphitheatre next to the International Rose Test Gardens

Metro Dancers was formed in 1977 to create an avenue for gifted advanced dancers to perform traditional full-length ballets, as well as modern, jazz, character and contemporary ballet pieces.  We draw dancers and audiences from throughout the Portland metro area.  The combination of rising pre-professionals and former professional dancers gives this company its exuberant style and polish.

It is the philosophy of Metro Dancers to provide not only professional quality performance opportunities for dancers, but excellent family oriented dance concerts for the public.  Metro Dancers also provides an avenue for many local school children to experience the world of dance through our full-length ballet performances just for kids.

Who: Metro Dancers and guest companies, performing the works of dynamic choreographers.

What: Under the Summer Sky—An exciting dance concert featuring works from classical ballet to cutting edge modern.

Where:  Washington Park Amphitheatre next to the International Rose Test Gardens

When: Friday, August 1st at 6:30pm

Why:  An opportunity to showcase the talents of Metro Dancers and other local dancers in a variety of different dance styles and engaging choreography.

How:   Bring a blanket and a picnic dinner to enjoy an excellent dance and music program set against the backdrop of the evening City skyline.  Remember to bring jackets as the Washington Park Amphitheatre can be chilly in the evenings.
